John L. Fryer Aquatic Animal Health Laboratory

The AAHL offers services including: study design assistance, assistance with permitting, animal care and use protocols (ACUPs), training and compliance, procurement of research animals, experimental set-up design and fabrication, routine tank cleaning, tank and equipment disinfection at the end of the experiment.

If requested, AAHL staff may support researchers with sampling including injections, water quality testing, pathogen culture, breeding, rearing, disease challenges, vaccination trials, feeding trials, tagging and necropsies.

Food Innovation Center - Ann Colonna

Ann has conducted several seafood and aquaculture sensory evaluation studies at the Food Innovation Center including farmed Kampachi fed different diets (difference and acceptability testing), dulse acceptability (raw and novel food products), oysters, sardines, farmed vs. wild and frozen vs. fresh salmon, cod, rockfish, Albacore and scallops.

OSU Seafood Lab in Astoria, Oregon

Part of the Coastal Oregon Marine Experiment Station with locations in Newport and Astoria.  Also affiliated with the OSU Department of Food Science & Technology. The OSU Seafood Lab offers a variety of services.
